    Job Description


    • Drives a school bus or commercial bus with a large canoe trailer from local International Falls summer camps to drop-off and/or pickup points in Ontario and Manitoba. Most runs require a half day, some up to the maximum of 10 hours. Driver will often drive part of the trip on logging roads or similar dirt/gravel roads.  

    • Drives a motor coach with or without trailer to Manitoba or Saskatchewan or the western United Sates. These trips are multidriver, multiday trips. Drivers often fly back to International Falls, leaving the bus out west. 

    • Drives a motor coach round-trip to MSP airport for pickups or drop-offs. 

    • Driver is responsible for cleaning and fueling bus upon return. All receipts, paperwork, credit cards to be turned in at the end of the day. 

    • Driver is NOT responsible for maintaining orderliness of the passengers. There will always be camp staff with every group. 

    • The work is part-time and seasonal. Accordingly our scheduling is flexible. A typical work week would be 3-4 days from mid-June to mid-August. 


    • CDL A or B with passenger and air brake endorsements. School bus endorsement NOT required.  

    • Minimum age 25.  

    • Current DOT physical.  

    • Pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens will be required. 

    • Must have passport or passport card and be able to enter Canada.  

    • Must be able to pass a background check for working with children.  


    • Pay is by the mile, currently $.35 per mile.  

    • $100/day minimum to cover the shorter canoe trip runs which may be as little as 150 miles. 

    • In the case of long motor coach trips, all expenses such as hotels, meals, airfares are covered. 

    • Waiting days are $100. Overnights are not reimbursed if driver drives the day before and after. 

    • Part-time, seasonal employees do not have benefits other than workers compensation. 

    • Partial subsidy of CDL tuition up to $1,000 depending on commitment to work in the summer.
